Oh happy days....

It's New Year's Eve and I am home sewing. Nothing fancy for me...no parties, no toasts, no big night out...just me and fabric, sewing machine, cookies and happy thoughts of this year. His Majesty is on his computer downloading songs and I am in the dining room sewing, the house is in a huge mess (painting bedrooms and ALL furniture moved into the living room and dining room, thus sewing in here). My youngest brother Quinn and I used to meet for dinner on a somewhat regular basis and I loved it and miss it :( Another resolution, to meet more often. He is such an old soul; sweet, kind, funny....good guy. Happy New Year to you Quinn, aka Doopie....and to all of you.
(I did manage to sew a scrub top, jacket and WCU shirt; fairly productive!)

Boy, I'm bad at blogging...

April? That was the last entry, I am terrible at this. Ok, New Year's resolution is to be more up on this blog! Yes, you read it right....my resolution is not to better myself physically (which needs to be done :) , but to actually use my blog! So, gotta get my pics in order...have tons of cute kitty pics, new piles of yarn that just look at me in the armoire begging to be used....

I've spent months making lists of things to do, reading blogs (addicted to this), baking up a storm, and working. I really need to make a list of things to do with wooliegirl....although I did make a cute shirt on Zazzle today....so cute!!! And have been playing around with my new camera...as you can see a self portrait with the gorgeous Stinky Jones. She likes her picture taken, especially when asleep! She also likes to assist with sewing and knitting. I have found she likes to eat my yarn! We have had a talk about this several times...but still she does it.

Okay, cup of coffee, maybe a banana split and knitting tonight.

Beautiful flowers!

Spring is here I hope for good! Though it will be 38 tonight, so I covered my tomatoes, peppers, and herbs just in case! I'm going the container garden route again this year, since a certain someone will not allow a bed garden. Geez! I just wanted a small bed for squash, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, mesclun and spinach! I didn't want the entire yard, just a small spot. But no, I could not have it!

Anyway, they are tucked in for the night. The other flowers are blooming and gorgeous and the pollen is coating everything in sight with it's golden hue of powder. I am here avoiding studying for tomorrow's exam. What a jerk I am :) I should be studying, but I am blabbing instead. I should also be packing for the conference.

I am pushing off nausea as well! Yes, yesterday and today I kept getting waves of dizziness and nausea, but thought nothing of it. Then went to dinner with 2 great gals from work (Ms Paula and Ms Cheri) and ate my weight in pub chips, field peas, cantaloupe and baked chicken. Even got sugar free blueberry pie to go (delish). Then about an hour ago the MAJOR nausea hit and I considered it to be the food, the vast amount of food. No, actually now think it is sinus...really! I just can't get sick now!!! I am talking nausea that makes you want to throw up just so you will feel better :( That is bad.

WEll, hopefully it will pass on it's on and I will feel like a spring flower again. I am watching Stinky Jones Kitten sit in the dark window staring out into the night. I wonder what she looks at when she sits there, it's dark outside!

EXAM woes!

I have exam woes this week, for I have my final Survey of Math exam on Wednesday. Ugh, I dread it. So I haven't been knitting as much as I had planned this weekend. I have been studying evil math. Once Wed evening is over, this class is over!
I also have been planning for a conference on Thursday and Friday. I really don't like conferences much anymore, because you get further behind at home and work while you are gone! That's not fun! I had the land shark (big car) detailed today so it won't be a dirty ride for the gals going with me. Now I need to plan snacks!
Corbin cat has been acting nuts at the back door. He will go and try to catch the knob, like he is going somewhere! He also cries like a little baby, so sad :( Right now he is sleeping in the cat tent, while I am wanting more ice cream! I made a mexican chicken stir fry with couscous for dinner and just finished a cup of ice cream, but I want more!!! Maybe if I knitted a few rounds of my pedicure socks I would feel better...plus a cup of tea.
Then back to studying for Wednesday....

What have I done the past month?

I have been living a busy life, like everyone else. I have been knitting, baking, homework, and never ending housework!!! Here is one of the cakes I made for a friend. She needed a cake that resembled a bottle of glue. It was a chocolate chip fudge cake with rich buttercream icing. Yum!!!

I started knitting a pair of pedicure socks from Knitty and booties that have frustrated me...working on both and finished a shawl. I need to get a picture of that sometime.

Stinky Jones Kitten loves to lay right on the patterns while you work, plus the remote!

How can you be mad at a face like this? Even when you can't see your pattern and lose count of stitches and placement :) She is precious!! But not precious when she starts trying to eat the yarn!

I even had my bellydance recital! Yes, what a night. I will have to post a few pics of that when I can!

Let her have a cake....

Here is the birthday cake for my sister. I was happy with it, especially since this was my first experience with basketweave and grass. I put a little "yard sign" in the grass with Happy Bday wishes. She was happy, so was I!!! Now, my birthday is in April and I am contemplating my cake. I end up making myself a cake every year. I like to bake, so it isn't that bad. Plus I know what is in it and where it came from :) I am not a huge fan of grocery store cakes, they taste chemically....
Anyway, I started my antibiotics, have several Ibuprofen in me and feeling a little better. Off for a nap and then dinner :)

I feel rotten, how bout you???

I feel rotten going on my 3rd week. I finally hit the wall last Thursday night and spent my EAster holiday on the couch wishing my headache and sore throat away... I went to work this morning to go to the clinic, but the NP was out sick!! So back in the morning to try again for a strep test. Yep, that's what it looks like. I guess after spending day in and day out with people with strep it was bound to catch up to me!!!

Here is my finished rag quilt bag for Britt. I love it! I think it turned out very cute for my 1st try and I so hope she liked it! I told her she could put her tennis shoes in it for GOTR. I am thinking of making a few more for kicks :)

In knitting news, I am back on the socks and slooooowwwwllllyy getting there. We have had several snags in knitting class with the pattern. There have been a few errors in the pattern and I am so confused. I came home and started on my "homework" and seem to have hit a bump in the road. I am following the pattern, but it is wrong. Yes, it is wrong!!! My heels look completely different. I am hoping we get a corrected copy in Wed's class, so I can try again. I will not be defeated!!

I have been out of commission with mid-term exams, a dog on the mend (she is getting a little more spunk back), work stress out my ears!!!!, and being sick. Plus our internet connection keeps cutting off, without a reason. I will try to post some more pics when it cooperates!

New project in the bag....jumping out at me!

I was at sock knitting class and couldn't help buy pick up a new project. A sweater pattern. What was I thinking????? I have never knitted a sweater. I have been scarves, shawls, booties, wraps, but never a sweater...or the socks I am fumbling through. I did finish the heel flap (homework for next Wed) and I think I messed up again. I will find out Wed, so stay tuned!! This is the sweater (Berroco pattern book) and yarn (8 balls of LOVE IT!) I am going to attempt. It is so pretty and soft and Brandi (knitting teacher) promised I could do it. Yeah, she said I could do socks too!!!

Sibby-dog is doing a little better. She is on her meds still and at the vet right now. Her daddy decided they would go and do their thing, which includes a McDonald's trip I am sure! Her check-up on Wed was a different vet and she started saying "cancer" right and left and freaked him out. I told him to chill, there was not enough evidence for that! Positive, positive...she is doing better! Even went to Lowe's yesterday and enjoyed the ride :)

Yesterday I made the quilted block 5"squares for Britt's bag. I love the colors and patterns, the pic does not do them justice. Today I MUST sew them together. I hope she likes it! I made enough squares for a 2nd bag. I am considering doing a little Etsy account. I have lots of stuff to share :)
I also have a brand new Cat Bordhi, Socks Soar on 2 Circular Needles book that I need to sell. I haven't used it, since I switched to the one needle sock class. So I need to destash that book and a bunch of other stuff. Guess that means I will be doing a little inventory this week. I have a rack full of aprons I have been making, another obsession!
Oh well, better get at that if I am going to make any progress today. (Plus I have a test to take in my Survey of Math class, blugh).

Oh, I messed up my socks :(

Knitting class last night and I messed up! I was so disheartened by this and frustrated! It was heel flap night, more like H*^& flap night! I messed up my heels and the instructor and myself did not realize this until 30 minutes left in class. Which meant....I had to backtrack and take out an hour and a half worth of knitting out!

I came home and finished that and now I will get ready to try the heel all over again...please wish me luck! I am supposed to slip one, knit one and repeat. Then I will slip one and purl all the way across and continue this until I have 2 inches. Can I do this?? I don't know, since I messed up with the teacher in the class!!! Shameful, embarrassing....frustrating!!!! Has this ever happened to you? Is there a trick in knitting the heel flap with the "magic loop" system? Please share with me!!!!!

Other than that big mistake, I made 35 cupcakes for a kinder party tomorrow afternoon, yeehaw! And tomorrow is the last day as the tooth fairy, thank goodness. It is fun, but gets tiring. I want a day off!!!

Sick puppy :(

I have a sick puppy at home :( She is not feeling well and we spent the day at the vet's office trying to figure out what the deal is. Sibby is about 10 years old, DH's puppy-dog, so I inherited her about 3 years ago.

She started feeling bad on Friday, just not herself. She was staggering (very unstable gait, especially with changes in terrain and height), then she began having labored breathing, not eating, very lethargic, refusing her treats, grunting with movement...just bad!

So off to the vet this morning (emergency vet! and ~564.00 bucks) and found out several things. Sibby-dog is anemic, but the origin is unknown, she has fluid around her heart (pleural effusion), she has severe advanced degenerative joint disease, spondylosis of multiple vertebrae...sick puppy!

She is on 3 meds right now, back for recheck on Wed, and sleeping right now.

I think she will be okay, she is drinking, but still not eating. Maybe her prednisone will kick in and she will decide to eat a turkey sandwich :)

This means, no sewing took place today. I was able to knit a little here and there while waiting at the vet's office. But I was able to upload my fabric cuts this time....aren't they pretty????

Magic loop socks...let's go!

As I mentioned early, I started my sock class.."Magic Loop, knit 2 socks at once on one needle." Amazing. So far I can do it :) We are using a worsted weight and size 3 needle and I have about 2 inches on each, but need 7 inches by Wed, so I need to be doing that instead of surfing the net for yarn. It is an addiction and I need help.
Anyway, I am using a beautiful soft yarn in a variegated pinky-purply color "Purple Allure" and love it. I figured the first pair would be for me, since I know I will have many imperfections and do not want to bestow imperfect socks on another!! (Don't you love my cupcake placemat??? Got that at Target in the post Vday sale :)
Knitting on the size 3 needle is weird! I am used to much bigger needles....like the 17s and up! So 3s are like toothpicks!
I have also washed and ironed my fabric strips and have them ready to cut up and sew into a ragged edge tote bag for my boss, Ms Britt! Do you have a cool boss? I do!! She rocks and I love her! I hope she likes her bag...that also needs to be finished!!! I forgot flannel, so I have to pick some up in the a.m. I need it for my "batting" in between my front and back squares. I picked some cute fabrics in pink and brown. I know they are trendy, but I love the combo! And I found a couple of pink and black pieces as well to mix it up and be wild:) While at the fabric store I spotted a quilting class schedule, too bad it is on the same nights as my knitting class. Can't do both...wish I could! I am unable to get the fabric pic to load, so I will try that again tomorrow...so contrary at times! Now I must go and knit!

50% off....popcorn....

I love 50% off coupons!!! I used one at ACMoore yesterday and purchased a wonderful book...Complete Feltmaking by Gillian Harris. I already have a list of projects I want to try and can't wait for a free day to play with them. I am loving this book and recommend it to every one interested in yarn, wool and felting! Now I just need that free day! I have spread myself thin in my work schedule over the next month and will happily be taking a day or two in March!!!!

I crazily said yes to teach a series of 15 nutrition classes to one grade unit, then said yes to a few other teachers wanting nutrition, then I have afterschool nutrition (4 per month) to cover as well. And that doesn't count the dental health classes for the month! I have 16 scheduled over the next 2 weeks and those aren't all with set times. I am still waiting on a handful to pick their times. Oh why do I do this??????? Because I love it :)

POPCORN! Who loves the mini 100 calories bags as much as me???? I am in love with these! I just popped one for me, needing a snack! See, we went to Applebee's for dinner and I picked the WW chili-lime grilled chicken salad (~250 calories). It was okay, the dressing was weird to say the least, so I didn't eat all of it. I did eat 2 boneless wings that His Majesty ordered and his "shooter" strawberry cheesecake. Now that was an insult. It is tiny!!!! I got home and needed a snack, popped my minibag in and wallah, popcorn!!!!!

I have packed my lunch for tomorrow (peanut butter and banana sandwich), work bags by the door, clothes hanging in the bathroom....I am closer to the morning....

I ate way too much cake....

I ate so much cake yesterday while crashing Valentine's Day parties, I am still sick :( blahhhhh....... I continued on my cake journey today. I will never learn...:) I made a wonderful friend a cake for her bday...Happy Birthday Dawn (my future baby mama!) We have a running joke that she will be my surrogate womb....I hope she had a good birthday, she deserved one. This is her cake...see.

Oh, while reading my favorite blogs today I ran across these pillows by dogged. They are wonderful and she is teasing us with a tutorial that I can't wait to see. I am hoping my link will take you there, I am still trying to get it to cooperate with me. Some posts it has worked, some not. Anyway, they are log cabin with gorgeous fabrics.

I also made a daycare party Valentine's cake for Ms Ivy, a sugar plum girl whose mommy I work with. I made this a simple white cake, buttercream icing with pink rosettes. I liked it, simple but sweet. Today her mommy asked to put me on cake retainer for her class and all parties. How fun...so I will be making party cakes for the 1 year old crowd this year :) What fun!!!

Anyway, tomorrow is a sheep shearing day!!! Yahoo!!! I am headed to check out some sheep, wool, yarn, all things glorious! Yes, I still love me some yarn! I am hoping to take loads of pictures and buy a trunk full of goodies that someday I will use...yes, someday.

Snow????

Well, I get home from work, fly into baking 2 cakes, clean the house, decorate one of the cakes, throw together a quick meal, finish the cakes, clean the kitchen....go outside to find the dog...and it is snowing! Shocker here!!! We never get snow and it is snowing!!! But it isn't sticking very well, so work tomorrow will continue :(

Tomorrow is Superhero cape day and mine is ready to fly. And there should be plenty of Valentine parties to crash at work, so I am psyched!!! Happy Valentine's Day to you!!! I hope you get loads of chocolate, the good kind!

I am beat and ready to sleep.

OH it is Saturday, time to clean...

It is Saturday around here, meaning time to clean the house!! I was awakened my 2 precious kitties wanting breakfast and the sound of a compressor. No sleeping in for me!! (Corbin likes to push me from my pillow and take over. He is big enough to succeed)
So, the laundry is started, I have had my egg beater and toast, I am getting ready to scour the bathrooms with Clorox....all the while dreaming of my hands in something creative like yarn and fabric :)
ON the agenda today is a trip to Wildskeins to register for my circular needle sock class. A trip to the grocery store for much needed vegetables, swing by the carwash and vacuum out the oats I am growing in my floorboard! and of course stop for my cappucino!! Wishing I had it right now :(
I also plan to finish up some heat rice bags for school and ...yes....aprons :) I am still hooked!!

I won...I won :) and here are 2 aprons I threw together....

Well, I won something from the Blogger Giveaway Carnival that took place last week!! Yea!! I'm so happy and joyful and it is something I had been looking into ordering...so what a treat!

Loria Family Dialogues is such a cool site and I love her pics! I won the Jane Cosmetic Lip Plumper and boy do I need it! I was cursed with thin lips. I have always wanted a luscious pout, but it just never happened. And I am way to chicken to go have them plumped up by a needle, I am afraid of needles :) So, yea for me, I won!!!!!!! (happy dance, happy dance)(http://www.loriafamilydialogues.blogspot.com:80/ please go and check out her blog, you will smile!)

So, the aprons. Well I was trying to join this month's Tie One On and managed to get with the "polka dot" theme. However, I forgot to send my picture in!!!!!! Here it is, my vintage 50's apron. I love this pattern. My mom collects patterns and dug out a few of her vintage apron patterns and I have been on a whirlwind of reversible aprons. This is a lovely scallop edge cotton with a reversible black and white rayon check. Quite lovely for entertaining :)

I have about 4 more of this style in different fabrics. Thinking about going wild on etsy....

Then I have this test run. I found a pillowcase apron pattern and whipped this one out. Found the pillowcase at a thrift store and made it very quickly, without any problems. I love it! I am now in search of more pillowcases! Can't you see a lovely embroidered edge on one? Love it , love it...
I will be hitting the fabric store soon and getting more apron material, along with some material for my bellydance costume. I have to have something black and silver and found a perfect pattern during the 99cent sale at Hancock last week. Yep, gotta get started on that as well. Man, I need to stay home. Working just puts a kink in my days and projects. Stresssssssssssssssss!
Well, I am off to knit on my shrug that may get finished in 2010. (I made a yummy chicken and steak fajita soup for dinner...my own concoction, with some jalepeno cornbread and followed by Edy's Reeses Cup chocolate ice cream:) all good, but way too much) See ya later!

Hungry for sweets?

I finally found the camera, batteries, and the picture card all at the same time. So, pics of the cakes I recently made. Do you know how tiring decorating a cake can be? Very! Maybe I am just slow:) I need to speed up so I can play with more yarn.
The rosey cake was a 6inch (2layers) smash cake for a coworker's daughter. I read a tip somewhere on practicing your roses with kisses or mini marshmallows. It is a wonderul tip, helps the rose stand taller and straighter. Now I make all of my roses around one or the other! Try it!

After I post this I am picking up my shrug needles/yarn and working, while watching War of the Worlds. I may not be crazy about Tom Cruise, but I liked that movie. I also have 2 NetFlix movies waiting for the morning. I cannot sleep late on the weekends, so I like to watch a movie when I get up (around 6am). I make a cup of tea, pop in the movie, grab my big blanket and curl up on the couch to watch. Everything is quiet in the house and usually Truman or Stinky Jones will join me and snuggle. Good times! Why can't I sleep late on weekends, but can sleep till noon when I have to work???????? Perplexing.
This is a another cake I finished on Thursday night. A coworker's son loves skateboards and she liked the pic of a cake similar to this...so this is what she got :) Sorry about the lighting. I have a major issue with light in my house. There is none! It is bad :(
Tomorrow's plan is to finish 2 aprons and start a baby quilt. Oh yeah, homework too (hear me gag???). And unravel a sweater I got at Goodwill, lovely dark pink. I just couldn't help myself. I had to buy it!!! I pictured a neck warmer and fingerless gloves in this yarn...let me go knit.

Blogger giveaways...

well I found an apron I dearly love being given away in the BloggieCarnivalGiveaway...here is the link http://www.homesteadblogger.com/mamato6/85230/ to the blog with the cutest apron. I want it....pitching fit now :)

Almost Friday, already? Bring it on...

Wow, my week has flown by and that is good and bad. Did not get nearly what I wanted done, minimal knitting, so sad again. Just finished a cake for a coworker's son. 13th Birthday!! Happy Bday Gordon! Hope you like your cake.
Went to take pics and the batteries are dead in the camera! Is it too much to ask to have something with this camera go right??????
Anyway, have been going nuts over the Blogger Giveaway Carnival this week and finding tons of wonderful sites! So thankful!
Thinking of the list of things I should be doing right now....1. Homework 2. Laundry 3. Bills 4. Finding stamp for Walker's bday card 5. Shower 6. Knitting! ...but want to go look at more blogs :) ( I did clean out the litter boxes, that was a start!)

Okay, off to find charged batteries first, face washing, teeth brushing and homework saved for tomorrow night...ick!

More cake, little knitting...

My knitting has been so slow, I am ashamed (head held in shame). But cakery has been taking place. I made this cake for my nephew's bday, from his drawing. He sent me a picture of the dog's head and said that is how he wanted his cake. So I made it happen and he was happy. Thank goodness!!!!

There was a little heat wave today, 53! But no heat in my office for the past two weeks. Those 30 degree days were so very very bad last week :( I was happy for the 50's today!

Tomorrow is another day of teaching nutrition and fundraising on my end. I hope to strike a lick on the knitting end and work on some more aprons, which I started yesterday. I just need more hours in the day! I also have a cake order for Friday, whoohoo! A skateboard cake. Now, wool is still my first love, but right now cake is making extra cash to buy wool around here. Anyone else know that feeling.
Here is the cake for my niece's bday. She also had a preference and it was teal with black dots and circles and stacked. It was for her 15th, but her 16th will have to be the "bomb." So I have a year to plan!!!
Now I will put down this computer and start picking up my needles. I must, must, must knit tonight!
Oh, and exciting news...the February sheep shearing is in a couple of weeks and I will be there! Hopefully no snow this year!

A chill is back!

The cold is coming back and the misery is following. I don't like the cold! Other than that, all is well. Started back to school with my math class and as I said before, I don't like math! Not liking this class either. Love that it is online, but the whole math part is evil.

Very slow progress on my shrug. Very slow!!! Worked a few sleeve rows while waiting in the doctor's office. Now, they tell me I HAVE to be there 30 minutes early or they reserve the right to start charging. My appt is at 1130, have to be there at 11, already have all paperwork completed and a chart made.....sit there for 30 minutes for no reason!! When do I get to start charging them for my time??? Ever wondered about that??? Did catch up on my office magazine reading though. Was taken back, weighed (pleased to see only gained one pound over the holidays) and then sat in a room for 15 minutes (knitting). Saw the doc for about 15, discussed my GI issues, had lab drawn and out the door.

On the cake and knitting front, I made this cake for a coworker. She wanted cats or quilting. So I did cats (out of fondant) playing on a quilt with a ball of yarn. LOVE cake, but I have said that hundreds of times. Made a Cooking Light carrot cake for a meeting today and I must say it was tasty! I may even go and eat the leftover piece right now. I ate pizza for dinner and feel so full, but just knowing that cake is in the house is taking over my brain. Plus there is also ice cream and that is just madness!

Blue day...let me whine

Okay, my day was blue, sad, whiney. The weather was gorgeous for January and much better than the past week. I love heat and sun and I had them both. So I can't complain about that. Instead, my sadness was from my DH who was in a bad mood the entire weekend, thus meaning I did everything wrong (in his eyes).

Crazy you may say? you are correct. When he is in a bad mood it is all my fault. Everything and everyone in the world is wrong - my fault. The ice is not cold enough -my fault. The light stays red too long - my fault. His chips are not fresh and crisp enough - my fault. Etc, etc, etc...have a DH like this ????? Anyway, drove me nuts, made me sad and want to run away!

I took solace in knitting and sewing and surfing the net for wet felting books (and I found a ton of them!). I want to start nuno felting and need more guidance. I would love to take a class, but no classes around me :( I have to whittle my list down to 2 books and jump right in. Any suggestions on books or websites? I would appreciate your help! Here are some of my thoughts: http://www.mypollywogs.com/la4296.jpg; http://www.amazon.com/Knitting-Never-Felt-Better-Definitive/dp/1933027118/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199762290&sr=1-17 ;
http://www.amazon.com/How-We-Felt-Techniques-Contemporary/dp/1596680318/ref=pd_sim_b_img_6

Oh how it would be nice to be able to curl up in a bowl and let go of all worries. Those would be good times! But I can't figure how he squeezes his huge body into such a tiny bowl and then sleeps away the day...

Slow Saturday...

It has been a slow Saturday around here, not that things haven't been happening. Went to a blood/bone marrow drive for a friend/coworker of mine. Here is a Tinkerbell cake I made for a little girl's birthday. All freehand, pretty decent if I say so myself....but took forever freehand!Lots of girlie bdays lately. Don't you just love cake??? I do !

Finished cutting out squares for the rag quilt. Thought I had enough last night, but I was wrong :) Have enough squares, but discovered I didn't have white thread. How can you not have white thread? Mystery...think it had something to do with all of the Christmas projects I made over the holiday.

And did I start knitting my shrug you may ask? Of course not! I was too busy with fabric, cleaning (bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming, mopping, dishes, and laundry), and baking. So, tomorrow is grocery gathering, white thread buying, and knitting. Promise! And going to try some Fiber One chocolate muffins. Any Fiber One addicts out there? I am! Love the stuff!

And for a kitty cat fix of the day....here is Ainsley, princess of the house. Doesn't want to be bothered by anyone; don't touch, don't talk to, don't look at her unless she gives you permission. What a peach!

Bathtub is coming...

Well, look what I almost have! Part of my crafty projects have been pushed aside do to a little bathroom renovation. And this is me one step closer to a new bathtub and shower! Yippee! I am excited, but will be even happier if I get a new kitchen. I NEED counterspace!

Other than a bathroom, I have spent the past 2 days trying to get on the internet, problem with the router. And I have been trying to stay warm. It is too cold right now and I am a wimp with the cold. Bring back 90 degrees!!!

I would love to have a cappucino right now, but I don't want to drive to get one! For some reason, I just cannot make a good cup of coffee. My gas station makes wonderful coffee!! Hit it everyday!

On a fun note, I delivered 2 cakes this morning and the bday mommy was very happy! These were for a little girl's 1st birthday and those are always fun to do. I have pics, but with the computer problems haven't been able to download them.
Maybe by tomorrow, fingers crossed. This is a pic of the last 1st birthday cake I did for a great lady I work with. It was her daughter Ivy's bday and she wanted pink with white dots. I loved this cake!!

Whoa....way overdue, I am back at it...

Happy New Year to you...2008!!!!!!! I am back after a very long time away and ready to jump out of the box. Life got in the way. You know how that is! So, what did I do for over a year?????

Went back to school, quit my part-time job, picked up a new hobby for extra moolah, still working full-time...learning lots of other things.

I have started cake decorating, because I love to bake and decorate and it is fun to do and make a little money. I have also started quilting, small projects and really enjoy it. It also helps with destashing my fabric collection!!!

AND.....knitting! Yes, knitting! I am getting ready to start a new shrug pattern and want to dig right in...but here I am. Unfortunately, spinning has all but disappeared in my life :( But it is a goal to start back by February. So, that is where I have been and now I am coming back.

I never make New Year's resolutions, because I can never keep them. The joke around here has been I will take up drinking and cursing for the new year. BUT, I can't even do that....failed already! I made a sour apple martini and couldn't drink it! Too strong, had to chase it with ice cream!
