Leave my peanut butter alone!

I love peanut butter, love it! I eat it everyday, several times a day. I am so sad about the salmonella outbreaks from contaminated peanut butter. Please don't shy away from safe PB, don't turn your back on it! I eat Naturally More (with flaxseeds) and it is safe....so give it a try.

It is awesome on toast with honey and cinnamon, yummy in ice cream, scrumptious in oatmeal, and of course the bomb with jelly (strawberry please). Just ate some a few minutes ago....go get yours!
Now, camera battery issue is still going wrong and hopefully to be fixed tomorrow after gym run and errands are complete. Here is a quick pic of the lovely fabrics I purchased last week. I am in the process of cutting out my patterns for scrub tops....actually already have one complete. Yea me!!! The cupcake pattern is next on the chopping block and that will begin in the morning.
Sttttiiiiiillllllll working on my first sweater and eyeballing my sock stash. I will soon be taking a class to refresh my sock skills. Yes, added to the ever growing list!
PLUS have caught the Facebook bug. Oh my goodness what an addiction!! Why didn't you tell me about this! I think I need an intervention and I haven't been on a week yet. Well, guess I will go check my facebook page now....

So much to do and sitting here....

I have so many things I could be doing productively, but in class reviewing databases. Keep your fingers crossed that we get to leave early!!!! Early enough I can hit Wendy's drive thru and get a chili and potato, rather than eat my leftovers.

Battery eating camera has killed another set of new batteries, so picture taking is nil. Any recommendations on batteries? Have tried many brands, no luck!

Have to take notes now, so no chitty-chat from me....

In classsssss

well started back to school last week and it has taken over my life once again. I am in class right now, shhhhhhh, supposed to be listening to lecture. I am disliking class very much! LOVE my instructor, an awesome lady, but not jiving with the course study at this time. Maybe it is really the idea of sitting in a class once again from 3pm to 10pm every Thursday night. That's what I don't like :(

Oh well, I have to do this and will put on my big girl panties and buck up and keep going. I do have some gorgeous fabric to show....bought this past weekend and can't wait to start sewing with it....beautiful!!! Also, still plugging away on my knit project of the decade (so it seems) of my 1st sweater.

Have a wonderful night...I will go back to being a good student!

Popping in

Just wanted to pop in with a blankie pic that I did get finished and started another project with a burp cloth, but need to finish the matching blanket to that one.... everyone seems to be pregnant around me! I made this for a coworker expecting a boy. It is so soft! Flannel squares and a minky backing. I hope she loves it!

I made a little burp cloth for another coworker, lacking the blanket at this moment. I have to get that started!

Still working on conquering the sewing room, remove a pile and replace with another :) That is my pace right now. I did make a batch of double chocolate brownies, which will go to work tomorrow. And finishing up a batch of chocolate fudge cookies right now. Just in a baking mood today!

The cats have been in a curious mood today and have been underfoot, in cabinets and boxes. Corbin loves to cram his big body into the smallest boxes, so I made him a pirate ship out of a shoebox that he will not let me throw away! He loves to sleep in this box. He is the captain of the cat seas today!!!
(See the yellow dome in the background? That is his tent! He and Stinky Jones fight over who gets to sleep in the tent. It is hilarious.....I love my babies!)

Lee jeans...go to this site!

Domestic Chicky is giving away 10 pairs of Lee jeans! Go to her link and check out her site (I love it) and enter for a chance to win a pair of these Lee jeans. I have seen the ads, but haven't found a pair yet! I will have to keep looking this weekend for a pair that fits!

Jeans are so hard to find that fit well and I think these might work for me! Check them out....

A few sewing projects completed...

I decided to try my hand at appliqueing sweatshirts for my niece Caroline and myself. I am an ASU (Appalachian State University) student and she likes ASU and WCU, so there were 2 schools to try out.

Once reason I was trying is because I am cheap :) I just can't justify paying $50.00 for a sweatshirt with letters sewn on! Crazy!!! Well the pics do not do them justice. They really are cute. Here are 3 of them, I also did a couple of ASU tees. Caroline loved hers and I will be sending the WCU shirt her way tomorrow.

Then I found a new scrub top pattern that I decided to give a try with some inexpensive material I found at WalMart, yes I have one WM that still has material! (I found a cool aqua and brown paisley with coordinating brown and aqua dots, brown and pink dots with coordinating brown and pink flowers, and then a cool black and pale aqua flowery print) I loved it so much I made 2 more from the pattern and then had to whip up a traditional scrub top and jacket in a lovely black and pink skull motif! I love my skulls!!!

His Majesty asked why they looked so big, I told him that is the way scrub tops look; big and boxy. The beauty of this pattern is it has a wide tie in the back that allows you to cinch it in more and makes a nicer, more flattering fit! Love it!!! I have one closet with nothing but scrubs! Since I wear them almost everyday I can say that is ok :) plus I make them, so not a lot of money wasted!

Anyhoo, today I am working on a diaper changing pad to match a burp cloth I finished. A co-worker is due the first of Feb and I have to get cracking! She is having a girl :) I love to do girl things! Have a great day!

So, I did do a few things this holiday...

One more day and back to work :( I was trying frantically to clean today and get more organized before having to actually work for a living again and decided to tackle the "sewing room." This is a newly acquired room for me! His Majesty decided to hardwood the 2 spare rooms over the break and designated his old computer room as my room, since the den (part of the new addition to the house) has been deemed his "man cave" and I am not allowed to use that room. Yeah, I know we have a very weird relationship!

So over the past couple of days we have piled my sewing, scrapbooking, spinning, etc materials in piles into the room and I have been trying to sort the mess and slowly you can see the floor. It is far from being put together, but will be within the month. I also have the treadmill and yoga ball in there...adding to the clutter, but it is my space....for now. Yeah, he can always take it back from me :(

My kitchen island is now in my room and packed with scrapbooking necessities and fabric blocks. It is also covered with stuff that needs to find a home! Oh yeah, he thought I should get rid of it! It is gorgeous, solid wood and wonderfully handy. No way dude, it stays :)

And the sewing armoire is loaded down with ribbons, threads and more baskets of fabric on top! And of course my sewing machine....and my old one (from 1988!) that I use to sew paper.

Now one of the best parts is my new serger. AAAHHHHHHH, I broke down and bought one the first of December and have been intimidated by it, but slowly getting used to it and love it! I bought the Bernina 700DL adn have been very pleased. I will have to show you what I made with it over the break :)
See, I have been busy! And when I went to take pics of the sewing projects I surprised myself, but that will come tomorrow....now time for sleep! I have to get up in the morning and tackle the day!

What happened here today....

well I did get up and go workout, yea for me! Then came home to a mess...usual house mess but His Majesty was cleaning out the garage, which meant throwing away my stuff. Yes, he throws my stuff away. So, had to jump in and salvage what I could before all was lost at the landfill of wifely belongings. Some of us napped most of the day while I shuffled and sorted.
I went through bags of fleece, unwashed raw fleece! I sorted through scrapbooking supply boxes and bins of fabric. Went through my gift closet and tried to organize, but in the end made a bigger mess! My goal Saturday is to finish that chaos and work on my sweater, maybe cut a few quilt squares....I don't know, maybe that is to big of a task :)
Definitely will take pictures for inspiration of future projects. And try to superglue down the rest of MY STUFF before HM gets rid of everything I own! Deep down I think he is trying to get rid of me, but just won't admit it!!!

Start the new year right....

I have so many plans for this year and for today, but of course didn't get any of them started! I bought bags of goodies at the Southeastern Fiber Festival this October, with every intention of doing them before now. I didn't....so shameful and embarrassing. So, I will start them this year.

I took a picture when I first got there and that was the only picture, for my camera then died! Luckily it is now back working and I can take a few pics of what I bought :) I wanted to start a nuno felted scarf this week, but didn't :( I didn't get anything I wanted to do done, because of someone else....you been there? You make plans and he makes other plans for you???? Well that is what happened to me over the past 2 weeks of my holiday vacation! I am trying not to be mad about it....trying!

I did get the Christmas tree down, which ended in a big blowout on his part. He told me to get out of the room, so I did. I was trying to do two other tasks and he added that one to the pile, can't do all at the same time, but stopped the other 2 to get down the tree....anyway, he is playing online with his friends and I am debating going out for ice cream :) Always makes me feel better! Hahahaha, drown it in ice cream!

Tomorrow is a new day and I will start it off with a workout and then a little retail therapy for a shawl. (It's on clearance so I am justifying the purchase as a savings!)

And here is the last cake I did for the year. Turned out well I thought! Buttercream icing with fondant circles. Makes me want some cake! I do plan on making the Guinness Chocolate Cake I found ages ago on Cookie Madness. Guess I will add that to the list that just keeps growing....

Oh happy days....

It's New Year's Eve and I am home sewing. Nothing fancy for me...no parties, no toasts, no big night out...just me and fabric, sewing machine, cookies and happy thoughts of this year. His Majesty is on his computer downloading songs and I am in the dining room sewing, the house is in a huge mess (painting bedrooms and ALL furniture moved into the living room and dining room, thus sewing in here). My youngest brother Quinn and I used to meet for dinner on a somewhat regular basis and I loved it and miss it :( Another resolution, to meet more often. He is such an old soul; sweet, kind, funny....good guy. Happy New Year to you Quinn, aka Doopie....and to all of you.
(I did manage to sew a scrub top, jacket and WCU shirt; fairly productive!)

Boy, I'm bad at blogging...

April? That was the last entry, I am terrible at this. Ok, New Year's resolution is to be more up on this blog! Yes, you read it right....my resolution is not to better myself physically (which needs to be done :) , but to actually use my blog! So, gotta get my pics in order...have tons of cute kitty pics, new piles of yarn that just look at me in the armoire begging to be used....

I've spent months making lists of things to do, reading blogs (addicted to this), baking up a storm, and working. I really need to make a list of things to do with wooliegirl....although I did make a cute shirt on Zazzle today....so cute!!! And have been playing around with my new camera...as you can see a self portrait with the gorgeous Stinky Jones. She likes her picture taken, especially when asleep! She also likes to assist with sewing and knitting. I have found she likes to eat my yarn! We have had a talk about this several times...but still she does it.

Okay, cup of coffee, maybe a banana split and knitting tonight.

Beautiful flowers!

Spring is here I hope for good! Though it will be 38 tonight, so I covered my tomatoes, peppers, and herbs just in case! I'm going the container garden route again this year, since a certain someone will not allow a bed garden. Geez! I just wanted a small bed for squash, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, mesclun and spinach! I didn't want the entire yard, just a small spot. But no, I could not have it!

Anyway, they are tucked in for the night. The other flowers are blooming and gorgeous and the pollen is coating everything in sight with it's golden hue of powder. I am here avoiding studying for tomorrow's exam. What a jerk I am :) I should be studying, but I am blabbing instead. I should also be packing for the conference.

I am pushing off nausea as well! Yes, yesterday and today I kept getting waves of dizziness and nausea, but thought nothing of it. Then went to dinner with 2 great gals from work (Ms Paula and Ms Cheri) and ate my weight in pub chips, field peas, cantaloupe and baked chicken. Even got sugar free blueberry pie to go (delish). Then about an hour ago the MAJOR nausea hit and I considered it to be the food, the vast amount of food. No, actually now think it is sinus...really! I just can't get sick now!!! I am talking nausea that makes you want to throw up just so you will feel better :( That is bad.

WEll, hopefully it will pass on it's on and I will feel like a spring flower again. I am watching Stinky Jones Kitten sit in the dark window staring out into the night. I wonder what she looks at when she sits there, it's dark outside!

EXAM woes!

I have exam woes this week, for I have my final Survey of Math exam on Wednesday. Ugh, I dread it. So I haven't been knitting as much as I had planned this weekend. I have been studying evil math. Once Wed evening is over, this class is over!
I also have been planning for a conference on Thursday and Friday. I really don't like conferences much anymore, because you get further behind at home and work while you are gone! That's not fun! I had the land shark (big car) detailed today so it won't be a dirty ride for the gals going with me. Now I need to plan snacks!
Corbin cat has been acting nuts at the back door. He will go and try to catch the knob, like he is going somewhere! He also cries like a little baby, so sad :( Right now he is sleeping in the cat tent, while I am wanting more ice cream! I made a mexican chicken stir fry with couscous for dinner and just finished a cup of ice cream, but I want more!!! Maybe if I knitted a few rounds of my pedicure socks I would feel better...plus a cup of tea.
Then back to studying for Wednesday....

What have I done the past month?

I have been living a busy life, like everyone else. I have been knitting, baking, homework, and never ending housework!!! Here is one of the cakes I made for a friend. She needed a cake that resembled a bottle of glue. It was a chocolate chip fudge cake with rich buttercream icing. Yum!!!

I started knitting a pair of pedicure socks from Knitty and booties that have frustrated me...working on both and finished a shawl. I need to get a picture of that sometime.

Stinky Jones Kitten loves to lay right on the patterns while you work, plus the remote!

How can you be mad at a face like this? Even when you can't see your pattern and lose count of stitches and placement :) She is precious!! But not precious when she starts trying to eat the yarn!

I even had my bellydance recital! Yes, what a night. I will have to post a few pics of that when I can!

Let her have a cake....

Here is the birthday cake for my sister. I was happy with it, especially since this was my first experience with basketweave and grass. I put a little "yard sign" in the grass with Happy Bday wishes. She was happy, so was I!!! Now, my birthday is in April and I am contemplating my cake. I end up making myself a cake every year. I like to bake, so it isn't that bad. Plus I know what is in it and where it came from :) I am not a huge fan of grocery store cakes, they taste chemically....
Anyway, I started my antibiotics, have several Ibuprofen in me and feeling a little better. Off for a nap and then dinner :)

I feel rotten, how bout you???

I feel rotten going on my 3rd week. I finally hit the wall last Thursday night and spent my EAster holiday on the couch wishing my headache and sore throat away... I went to work this morning to go to the clinic, but the NP was out sick!! So back in the morning to try again for a strep test. Yep, that's what it looks like. I guess after spending day in and day out with people with strep it was bound to catch up to me!!!

Here is my finished rag quilt bag for Britt. I love it! I think it turned out very cute for my 1st try and I so hope she liked it! I told her she could put her tennis shoes in it for GOTR. I am thinking of making a few more for kicks :)

In knitting news, I am back on the socks and slooooowwwwllllyy getting there. We have had several snags in knitting class with the pattern. There have been a few errors in the pattern and I am so confused. I came home and started on my "homework" and seem to have hit a bump in the road. I am following the pattern, but it is wrong. Yes, it is wrong!!! My heels look completely different. I am hoping we get a corrected copy in Wed's class, so I can try again. I will not be defeated!!

I have been out of commission with mid-term exams, a dog on the mend (she is getting a little more spunk back), work stress out my ears!!!!, and being sick. Plus our internet connection keeps cutting off, without a reason. I will try to post some more pics when it cooperates!

New project in the bag....jumping out at me!

I was at sock knitting class and couldn't help buy pick up a new project. A sweater pattern. What was I thinking????? I have never knitted a sweater. I have been scarves, shawls, booties, wraps, but never a sweater...or the socks I am fumbling through. I did finish the heel flap (homework for next Wed) and I think I messed up again. I will find out Wed, so stay tuned!! This is the sweater (Berroco pattern book) and yarn (8 balls of LOVE IT!) I am going to attempt. It is so pretty and soft and Brandi (knitting teacher) promised I could do it. Yeah, she said I could do socks too!!!

Sibby-dog is doing a little better. She is on her meds still and at the vet right now. Her daddy decided they would go and do their thing, which includes a McDonald's trip I am sure! Her check-up on Wed was a different vet and she started saying "cancer" right and left and freaked him out. I told him to chill, there was not enough evidence for that! Positive, positive...she is doing better! Even went to Lowe's yesterday and enjoyed the ride :)

Yesterday I made the quilted block 5"squares for Britt's bag. I love the colors and patterns, the pic does not do them justice. Today I MUST sew them together. I hope she likes it! I made enough squares for a 2nd bag. I am considering doing a little Etsy account. I have lots of stuff to share :)
I also have a brand new Cat Bordhi, Socks Soar on 2 Circular Needles book that I need to sell. I haven't used it, since I switched to the one needle sock class. So I need to destash that book and a bunch of other stuff. Guess that means I will be doing a little inventory this week. I have a rack full of aprons I have been making, another obsession!
Oh well, better get at that if I am going to make any progress today. (Plus I have a test to take in my Survey of Math class, blugh).

Oh, I messed up my socks :(

Knitting class last night and I messed up! I was so disheartened by this and frustrated! It was heel flap night, more like H*^& flap night! I messed up my heels and the instructor and myself did not realize this until 30 minutes left in class. Which meant....I had to backtrack and take out an hour and a half worth of knitting out!

I came home and finished that and now I will get ready to try the heel all over again...please wish me luck! I am supposed to slip one, knit one and repeat. Then I will slip one and purl all the way across and continue this until I have 2 inches. Can I do this?? I don't know, since I messed up with the teacher in the class!!! Shameful, embarrassing....frustrating!!!! Has this ever happened to you? Is there a trick in knitting the heel flap with the "magic loop" system? Please share with me!!!!!

Other than that big mistake, I made 35 cupcakes for a kinder party tomorrow afternoon, yeehaw! And tomorrow is the last day as the tooth fairy, thank goodness. It is fun, but gets tiring. I want a day off!!!

Sick puppy :(

I have a sick puppy at home :( She is not feeling well and we spent the day at the vet's office trying to figure out what the deal is. Sibby is about 10 years old, DH's puppy-dog, so I inherited her about 3 years ago.

She started feeling bad on Friday, just not herself. She was staggering (very unstable gait, especially with changes in terrain and height), then she began having labored breathing, not eating, very lethargic, refusing her treats, grunting with movement...just bad!

So off to the vet this morning (emergency vet! and ~564.00 bucks) and found out several things. Sibby-dog is anemic, but the origin is unknown, she has fluid around her heart (pleural effusion), she has severe advanced degenerative joint disease, spondylosis of multiple vertebrae...sick puppy!

She is on 3 meds right now, back for recheck on Wed, and sleeping right now.

I think she will be okay, she is drinking, but still not eating. Maybe her prednisone will kick in and she will decide to eat a turkey sandwich :)

This means, no sewing took place today. I was able to knit a little here and there while waiting at the vet's office. But I was able to upload my fabric cuts this time....aren't they pretty????
